This traditionally hand-hammered wok made of carbon steel, with a diameter of 30cm, is perfect for preparing a wide variety of dishes for up to 3 people. If you for up to 6 people If you want to cook, we recommend the 36cm version.
Thanks to the thin forged carbon steel, the wok reacts quickly to changes in temperature and enables the well-known Cantonese cooking method “stir frying” (chǎo and bào).

The metal handle is on the opposite side of the wooden handle. This is useful when the wok is full of food and therefore heavy. The metal handle is also suitable for hanging up the wok for storage.
Please note: Before using the wok for the first time, it must be burned in. A Instructions included with the wok. After a single baking, a natural non-stick coating forms, which in particular enables healthy frying with little oil.
Thanks to the flat bottom, the wok can be used in many ways - under an open fire, on the gas and electric stove and even on the induction stove.

We do not offer a lid because every wok is unique (hand-hammered) and the lid would therefore not always fit 100%.
The base has a slight inner curvature, so that the thin carbon steel can expand under heat without bulging outwards and thus wobbling. It is therefore completely normal that the floor is not 100% flat, but this is not a problem for heat transfer.
Pretty light for a steel pan. The bottom was curved inward. Tried smoothing it out. Due to the material tension, this is unfortunately only possible with difficulty.

The slight inner curvature of the bottom is absolutely intentional.
Because the thin carbon steel expands under heat. If the floor were now completely flat, the floor would expand outwards and thus no longer stand well and wobble.
We have therefore given the bottom a slight inward curvature to avoid this effect.
This doesn't do anything to the heat transfer - you can safely start cooking.
I'm not satisfied the wok rusts in the dishwasher
Hello Monica, thank you for your review. The wok is not dishwasher-safe. In the care instructions, we also point out that the wok should be washed by hand and then immediately dried and oiled.
I've only used the pan a few times; but I am completely enthusiastic about the great results that I have already been able to achieve :-); I was a bit unsure when it was burned in, but it will have been fine
it has become my favorite kitchen appliance, I bought the 30's a year ago.
I recommend the branded one, you can start right away with that. The floor darkens, especially in high heat, but that doesn't do any harm. I could not find that the floor is uneven, the use is on induction. The heat is easy to regulate. The heat distribution is good. so far the wooden handle is solid, but I see better mounting options. can you actually buy a handle if you need it?
